My dad used to make eggnog on Christmas every year when I was a kid. It was always a big deal and he and mom and my older brothers and sisters would have some (I was 12 years younger than my closest sibling) after dinner. I'm pretty sure he used whiskey in it, as he wasn't much of a rum drinker. I remember eggs, whiskey, and then him trying to heat it up on the stove without it getting too frothy. I didn't get a chance to actually drink any of it, of course, until I was older, but by then it was time for me to leave home, and he was very much older then and didn't make it as often, even after I tried to get him to make it a few times. I never got around to asking him how he made it (I doubt he had a recipe for it, anyway), and he died a year and a half ago. Since then, I've tried searching on the Web but haven't found a good whiskey eggnog recipe that calls for bourbon *and* heating on a stove top. I thought I'd post here to see if any of you all have ever come across such a recipe. It might be of Southern origin, but I'm not certain.
