View Full Version : Say hi
If you're a new member here feel free to say hi here. As you can see we've only just created the forum - DrinksMixer has been running for 5 years now and we had a lot of requests for this.
Just to kick things off, my name is Adam, I know Nate is knocking around somewhere... we take care of the site and we're hoping we can establish a community here for our visitors. :)

Welcome! We love the kind words, and are thrilled you joined our community. I've yet to try a mojito, heard it's pretty amazing in the summer.

Hi all, I'm a budding mad scientist with over 80 bottles of different "chemicals" for mixing purposes. Got into this a couple years ago as a hobby, now using the happy results in entertaining family and friends.
We came upon this website when looking for new recipes and are happy that there is now a forum open for exchange of ideas and just shooting the breeze.
Some of my favorites to make: mint julups (especially on Derby day), bourbon sours, cosmos, in fact martinis of all types and flavors, Irish car bombs, Jaeger bombs, Nutty Buddy shots (1 part each Frangelico, Bailey's and Kahlua layered), and Irish Coffee. Trying to find or create the "perfect" LIIT recipe that just plain ain't overpowered with gin flavor, but is better-balanced and more palatable.
One particular favorite from this website is the Screaming Multiple Orgasm On The Beach (gasp of shock!). 1.5 oz. amaretto, .5 oz. triple sec, 1 oz. each Midori, Peachtree and coconut rum, shaken with and strained over ice then topped with 2 oz. club soda. This is a walking fruit salad that will sneak up on ya and knock ya flat on yer rump!
I'm in another specialized discussion forum with over 23K posts there, also a member of that forum's HOF, so I'm anything but bashful.
Hoping to share ideas and just talk with folks who enjoy the same interests. :)
Welcome to you guys :)
This is definately the place Gorgo, nice list, seems like you've got quite a varied taste. ;)

Hey all. I'm a recovering bartender (I fall back into it every other year) for the past 10 years. I've worked in a tiny little dive bar where I got to do magic all day, and I worked in a Hoity-Toity private club (30k/yr to be a member hoity toity) where I wasn't allowed to have a personality. Now?? I just bartend in my basement for friends, but I run a great happy-hour club and bar advertising site. Hoping to expand to other markets (Lancaster PA, York PA, and Myrtle Beach S.C. for now) and let this become my full-time gig.
Until then? I'll keep working for the man M-F. Done work at 5, but at the bar by 5:05
Cheers,
Evilpete

Heya! Lee here.
Love margaritas and most other things frozen.
Also love playing around with different things.
Really hoping to expand the collection -- so far have just enjoyed the heck out of the basics -- Rum and Tequila are ever-present.
Have developed an appreciation for Scotch. Definitely love stuff with cranberry juice.
Has anyone taken a Cranberry Slushy from Sonic and made anything with it? Seems like a winner.
Inspired by Jimmy Buffett and trying to live in three-quarter time as much as possible -- nothing helps like a smooth drink!
Looking forward to shooting the breeze with y'all.

Hi! Connie in Tennessee. Hubby and I just bought a bar for an empty room. We are slowly adding to our stock and have an ex bartender teaching us different recipes. We are loving it. Presently sipping a white russian after a long days work

Hey DJ, your little "motto" under your screenname reminds me of one of my favorite impaired sayings. . .
"Am I as think as I drunk I am?"

I got into mixing drinks because we got a really cool cylindrical bar last year. It's about 3 1/2 feet tall with a 3 1/2 foot diameter and solid teak. It looked so cool we had to buy lots of alcohol to put in it. I am primarily a beer drinker (hey I live in Germany, what do you expect??) but the wife likes mixed drinks. I am getting into it now. This site has really helped me expand my mixed drink horizons!!!!
Hi.....I'm TJ....I like meeting people and learning how to make new drinks.

A little late....but I'm here. I love to drink and I love to make up my own drinks, but as with many, for me, it's not about getting drunk (unfortunately, or is it fortunately?...I have yet to get even buzzed)...I just love seeing what kind of flavor combinations I can make.
Invented a new one last month. If any of you are ever in Orlando...stop in at Howl at the Moon and ask for a Red Sox (yes, I'm from Toledo, but my heart belongs to Boston). LOL
