For personal bar, I don't wanna use just any cheap brand, but on the other hand, I don't want some ridiculously expensive brand either, I want something that has really good quality and doesn't cost that much, by the way I live in Connecticut, USA if it helps with region.

The drinks I wanna know the best quality brands for are:

Vodka
Gin
Tequila
Rum

There are more, so please tell me your favorite/the ones you think the best for OTHER types of alcohol are. Thanx.

You should try Belvedere vodka. Not cheap ($30) a bottle, but well worth the money. Has a slight vanilla taste to it...very good when served ice cold.
I've tried many different kinds of vodka, but this has to be the best for the money!

I like Three Olives vodka from England - a clean wheat beverage with a crystal clear taste, and a fine selection of flavored vodkas.

Bombay Blue Sapphire gin, Jose Cuervo Reposado tequila and Captain Morgan rum are my other favorite brands in their respective categories.

In my neck of the woods, a relatively inexpensive Rum which I really really like is Cruzan Dark Estate.

I also have enjoyed several versions of Sauza Tequila (though my tequila taste is getting pickier), don't know much about Vodka or gin.

Vodka - Any Stoli vodka regular or flavored is QUALITY and while it's not cheap (anywhere from $21-$26 for a fifth) it won't break you bank account either. If you're just looking for great value at good price, you should try Downunder Vodka (an Australia vodka) which is like $10 for a fifth or Iceberg (Canadian) which is like $18-$20 for a 1.75 magnum. Both very inexpensive but are just quality and very good vodkas in my opinion.

Gin - I mean, Bombay Sapphire is a pretty solid choice, but it's a little pricey. You should give Citadelle Gin, it's as good if not better than Bombay from my experience, and few dolllars cheaper.

Tequila - Jose is solid; I haven't had a lot of experience with tequila. I hear Oro Azul is pretty good, but a little bit more costly than Jose.

Rum - You can't really go wrong with Captain Morgan, a very solid choice and not expensive. Also, like Oublio said, Cruzan Dark Estate is amazing for the price you pay, it's really good. If you're looking for flavored for rum, the Bacardi flavored series is pretty good, can't really go wrong there (I'd stay away from gold Bacardi rum or Superior, tastes pretty awful imo)

Tequila- i enjoy 1800. it can actually be bought in a silver and a gold version, runs about $26 a fifth i believe. Has a smooth, clean taste which some other tequilas really dont match
