Well I am 18 and I just went to a Bartending school at The Tri-State Bartending agency.
But for some reason I have been handing resume like crazy ever since I pass my final test. But no one as called and my step-father is starting to feel that this was waste of time for me.
But I personly wan to do Bartending as hobbie, I am in college but I realy want to be some one aprentice.
If you guys can help me figure how to be a good starting Bartender I be in your gratude. Thanks you:D

Just keep on trying. Some bar will not hire people that have gone to bartending school. Not sure why this is, just what I have heard around the industry. But I am not sure how it is out in New York. Just be persistent and you'll find a job.

Most of the people think bartending is not a good occupation and its not for the people with good family background. Along with that, normally people can not see the growth and career opportunities in this occupation. But its not true. If you like your job and having the basic skills, this field can be of a great success for you.

Sometimes you just have to start in the trenches. If you don't get hired straight out as a bartender, try and get a barback position in a busy bar. This is how a great deal of bartenders got started. Best of luck. Cheers!

Try working out of a restaurant/bar first to get your feet wet like buffalo wild wings or similar. That is what I did but I still bartend for B-dubs. I love the sports atmosphere and all the tv's. But, they'll start you as a server first for like six months.

I'm not a bartender, but I've never thought it is so difficult to find a place for work...there is so many bars and restaurants in NY. Go ahead and find smth, I'm sure there is maybe a little bar, but which is waiting for you.
