To my knowledge for 80 proof vodka the temperature would have to be -100c or so for it to freeze. Higher precentage alcohol's such as grain alcohol (everclear) require about -110 celcius. I think that you could maybe acomplish freezing vodka by using dry ice, which has a temperature of -100 Celcius. But I honestly am not too positive that i'm correct, the only thing I am sure of is that household freezers are no where near cold enough to freeze alcohol.

Why FrozenVodka?

The story: Supercooled Siberian vodka causes instant death when overeager drinker takes a slug.

In this urban legend, Soviets in Siberia (or workers in Antarctica) leave vodka outside, drink it at -100 degrees, freeze esophagus and "die instantly". Variants include hunters leaving booze in car, getting frostbite on contact, and teeth shattering instead of death. Although alcohol has a much lower freezing point than water, it will freeze; standard vodka (40% alcohol) will freeze at above -20 degrees C, even very concentrated ethanol (75%) will freeze at above -50 degrees C.

So the vodka's not as cold as the story would have you believe. What about the "instant death"? If the vodka-swiller was prone to supraventricular tachycardia (i.e. has a cardiac electrical re-entrant pathway), sudden cooling of the left atrium could theoretically alter the physiology of the area such that the tachycardia was triggered; this could conceivably lead to ventricular tachycardia, which would look to all the world like "instant death". Drinking a large amount of very cold fluid could achieve this, as the oesophagus runs right behind the left atrium.

.....but you can freeze vodka like I did:
Place a full bottle into a fully opened cardboard half-gallon milk carton. Insert flowers or thinly sliced fruit (we've used nasturtiums, lemons, and limes) around the bottle, filling one third of the carton. Pour water into the container, just covering the fruit and flowers. Place the carton upright in the freezer. When the liquid is completely frozen, add another layer of fruit and very cold water, and freeze. Repeat, filling and freezing a third of the carton at a time, which prevents all the fruit and flowers from floating to the top until the water reaches the bottle's neck. Remove from the freezer when it's time to serve the vodka: Cut away the milk carton with a utility knife; wrap a dinner napkin around the bottle's base, and serve the vodka with slices of lemon zest tied in knots.

hmmm.....why should you put glass of vodka when you can put a whole bottle.....?!?!
I didn't try with glass but the bottle look nice, but if you and youre bodys can't consume whole bottle it's doesen't matter, vodka cannot lose the quality anyway...

The purpose is multiple,it's can use like smartness decoration but at the same time on that way the fluid in the bottle is cold during the night..... :)
why fruits&flowers....I have not some special reason for that but mostly insist on that to useing natural substances and when I'm prepareing cocktails garnish I always apply decorations whose the guests can eat.

yes of course,you are right!!!
You can freeze vodka without fear that vodka will lost on the quality or taste because anyway vodka is the one specific kind of beverage which is without color and aroma so never mind if you freezeing her a few times...

2Snow_MaN:
Myself partake one very important rule when I'm useing the vodka and that is:
When you work with vodka, you have to use as much is possible quality vodka what gives you a lot of freedom in work and big possibility in useing and experimentation and at the same time on that way you may develop youre fantasy....

......so if you useing high quality vodka, you can surprise yourself and in that case the result is warranted!
