I live in Texas and work in a steak house that claims that has a Texas Tea in which the only difference between it and a Long Island Iced Tea is that the TT has tequila. I looked all over the internet and it says the difference is that a Texas Tea has bourbon. When I brought it up even the customers were saying that it's the only difference is that the LIIT doesnt have tequila and the TT does. Is it Just a Texas thing?

LIIT have tequila in his structure just like TT.
But the only one difference between them is that TT in his structure have Burbon Whiskey and LIIT don't...

I didn't try TT but I think that burbon gives him a very special taste and it's very good in combination with Coke.
But from the other side it is not usually and it's very rarely that you will find the recepie where Burbon is in combination with 3 or 4 other basic drinks like in TT case.......(Agent Orange...)

All I remember about Logan's Roadhouse Tea is it has Everclear in it...I heard that it's actually lemonade, everclear and coke. But I don't really believe that, but I do know for a fact it's got everclear (grain alcohol) in it.

My LIIT has teq - along with vodka, gin, rum and triple sec
My TT loses the tequila, gains the whiskey or bourbon

The recipe on the site uses a one-gallon pitcher. Any idea how to shrink this down to a single serving? Maybe 1/2 or 1/4 oz for each spirit?
Has anyone who's made this think that just adding bourbon to the LIIT recipe really make that much difference in taste?

So does anyone know if theres a reason everyone considers the recipe for a LIIT to not have tequila, I just want to know if it's a texas thing. If you could ask your local batender and see if it's local for you too.

hmmm....maybe I didn't understood your point,but you can't make LIIT without Tequila.......NO WAY!
But,you can make some other Tea without Tequila but that cocktail can't be called LIIT.
