I am looking to compile a quality list of low-carb liquor and drink recipies for some of my regulars. I have found several beer lists on-line but even the Liquor Store employees gave me a blank look when I asked them for low-carb suggestions. Any thoughts???

I know the site has an implementation so you can order things by number of carbs, try that out.

Go to cocktails for example, on the right select "sort recipes by carbs" & click refine.. now your list of 8k+ cocktails is ordered by carbs for those drink that have that info.

Note that the nutr. info is not strictly accurate either, I wish the liquor companies would be more revealing with their info, but if you email a specific brand they will usually let you know how many carbs etc are in it.

One of the best low-or-no-carb drink products I have found are the Baja Bob mixers made with Splenda - zero calories and they taste great!

I also use Torani no-cal flavored syrups (also made w/Splenda) for special flavoring on occasion.

Not too well versed in low-carb alky material, though.

Thanks Gorgo & dm. I am waiting for my order or Baja Bob mixers to get to my house!

:D

I know (non-flavored) Vodka, Gin & Rum are usually O-carb, O-sugar & some Rum is very low but I am still hoping to find a quality list of liquors and their nutrition values so I can get all sorts of creative!!!

I cut carbs with my G&T's by using diet tonic. I was astounded at the amount of carbs the fully leaded tonic has! 24 carbs, versus 0 carbs with diet.

I am replying to myself! In regards to diet tonics, they do differ. I like the Canada Dry diet the best, followed by Schwepps. I hate the generic store brands, they just taste awful!

Agreed... diet tonics are tricky. I just prefer to forgo them all together and go for club soda. Less of everything... but sometimes you just can't avoid tonic.

Been doing the low carb thing awhile, the wife and I like 2 oz of Captain Morgan with a twist of lime over ice in a pint glass, then top off with club soda.

Cheers!

vodka with club soda is always a good low card drinks. or a gin & club soda. diet tonic water can be good. but not all diet tonic water are actually "diet" If it has sugar it has carbs. godiva, tequila rose, any creme's, hpnotiq all have sugar. crown, jim beam & dom B&B are low carb. if drank with club soda or water. UV Vodka have nice low cal drinks. Most of they're flavored vodka's are low cal. you should check them out.

How about Water? there's nothing with less carbs and that's more healthy than a good old fashioned glass of water
