Does anyone know if grain alcohol may be used like isophropyl alcohol for sterilizing, say, prior to injections etc.? I am not a junkie just sensitive to the other! Thought it was an interesting topic.

I believe ethyl alcohol was what early rubbing alcohol was made from, aka. grain alcohol. Once prohibition started, the recipe was changed to isopropyl alcohol and has since not changed back. Blame prohibition for making rubbing alcohol non-edible.
