Hello everyone! I need some help! I bartended for 5 yrs but had to stop because I decided to start a family. My friend just opened a new dance club and asked if I would come back and bartend for her. I haven't been out drinking in a while and have no clue what "the cool new shot to drink" is. If anyone has any ideas or has some awesome shot recipes, please let me know! Thanks! :D

I am not so sure about what is new or cool personally, but i will take a shot of soco and lime any day.

I don't know if your liquor or party supply store has 'em, but I recently picked up some PowerBomb cups at the Party Source across the river in Bellevue KY (website www.thepartysource.com (http://www.thepartysource.com)). They each have a 1 oz. inner chamber and a 4 oz. outer chamber so you can separate two liqueurs (or other liquid ingredients) into one supersized shot very cleanly, then serve it up for slamming.

I found a website online that sells them at http://www.servu-online.com/manufacturer/C-R-Manufacturing.asp - scroll down to Powerbomb cups, where you can also click on "view image" to see what they look like.

My package of 50 cups had a number of recipes printed inside. Some examples

Drink Name: 1 oz on the left/4 oz on the right

Jager Bomb: Jager/Red Bull
Hurricane Shooter: Rum/Passion fruit juice with splash of lime
Sun Breeze: Vodka/Grapefruit & Cranberry juices (equal)
Eye of the Tiger: SoCo/Orange juice
Coffee Bomb: Kahlua/Cola
Lemon Drop: Vodka/Hard lemonade
Snow Cone: Mandarin Orange liqueur/Red Bull
Melon Bomb: Midori/Red Bull

and so on. These are great recipes and a nice drink concept!

By far the shot I get the most call for is the Jager Bomb. I have also served Mouse Bombs which is Blackberry Brandy and an energy drink. Some others I have added to my list are:

Peach Tart - 1.5 oz Peach Schnapps and .5 oz lime juice. Shake w/ ice.
Cosmos - 1.5 oz vodka and .5 oz lime juice. Shake w/ ice.
Apple Jack - 1.5 oz Jack Daniels and .5 oz Apple Pucker.

One of the things I have learned is that patrons will let you suggest shots for something new and different. They seem to like the variety. I started doing this and found that after I offered to set them up with something they kept coming back to me for something new throughout the night.
